Student Evaluation Guidelines

Transcripts are required for the student's "Standard Student File" with KIU; however, a listing of credits earned at various schools may be used for evaluation purposes. If at the time of graduation the student has not provided transcripts to support post high school credits earned, he/she will NOT be permitted to graduate, and additional classes may be required to meet the degree curriculum requirements. This may result in additional fees to the student for such courses above and beyond the 'Curriculum & Financial Agreement". The student MUST be advised of this fact when he/she is awarded Post High School credits.

NOTE: When reviewing and applicant's transcripts from a school, please inure that ALL CREDITS TRANSFERRED ARE A "C" GRADE OR BETTER. The minimum requirement for a transferred grade is a 2.0 GPA.

Once all areas have been reviewed and evaluated, please place the applicant's awarded credits per the three categories: LIFE, CHRISTIAN EXPERIENCE, POST HIGH SCHOOL in the designated section of the form:

Bachelor Degree Maximum Awarded Credits:

LIFE CREDITS = 30
MINISTRY CREDITS = 30
POST HIGH SCHOOL = NO LIMIT

Master Degree Maximum Awarded Credits:

LIFE CREDITS = Not Applicable
MINISTRY CREDITS = 6
POST HIGH SCHOOL = NO LIMIT above earned Bachelor Degree

Doctorate Degree Maximum Awarded Credits:

LIFE CREDITS = Not Applicable
MINISTRY CREDITS = Not Applicable
POST HIGH SCHOOL = Not Applicable

If an applicant exceeds 120 credit hours through any combination listed above, he/she is considered a candidate for consideration to be awarded a "BACHELOR OF RELIGIOUS ARTS IN BIBLICAL STUDIES" degree. If you would like to recommend an applicant for an awarded degree, please complete a copy of the "Recommendation For Awarded Degree From", and submit your request to Dr. Lebert Malahoo, President. Please DO NOT confirm or concur an awarded degree to a student WITHOUT the expressed or written authorization of Dr. Lebert Malahoo.
